Singapore River View

Sort of squashed between Malaysia and Indonesia is a little island known as the City State of Singapore. It might be suggested that a billion or so concrete mixtures dumped some unwanted truckloads on a bare strip of land but looking closely there is order and greenery amongst the chewing gum stains!

A supposed culturally diverse people inhabit tall buildings and live in a closed world of earning money and working late. Some might say that political weight produces cultural harmony but the state boasts one of the safest and cleanest places to live on this earth. A very active night-life gives to the many tourists and locals a selection of anything from seedy bars to Irish, a choice of restaurants and hawker centers delivering delicious foods ranging from Chicken Biriyani to Pizza, Macdonald's to Sweet and Sour Fish.

A financial heavyweight growing daily, Singapore survives its petty squabbles with Malaysia well and is turning to China for mass income and the influx of tourists. Singapore is the ideal society that proves that democracy is not the answer to a safe and happy lifestyle, that uses corporal punishment without hesitation and were people have little to complain about - or if they do they keep it to the cafe's and cellars were musicians and poets gather!

Singapore is the model that other countries would do well to follow.
